Many of our delicious specialties truly deserve the name “Shapiro’s” because they really come from Shapiro family recipes… Great Grandmother Rebecca’s meatballs, Great Uncle Abe’s Stuffed Peppers and Great Aunt Fanny’s deviled eggs name just a few! Our dinners are huge, delicious and available all day*. We include two sides*, our famous hand-cut rye and a kosher dill pickle spear. Plan to take home leftovers!

Corned Beef or Brisket Dinner
Piles and piles of Shapiro’s famous corned beef. Our corned beef comes from Vienna Beef in Chicago and we are the only place in Indy to get it! The best of the best, we slow-cook it in-house to our own exacting standards and from our own hundred year old family recipe.
Our chicken is fresh, fresh, fresh – NEVER frozen, local and baked to perfection. Each order is ½ of a chicken! Definitely get a “to go” container because you’ll have lunch for tomorrow!
Just like you remember it: moist, flavorful and absolutely delish!
Shapiro’s stuffed cabbage is so delicious you’ll wonder why it’s so much better than any other you’ve had! We’ll tell you the secret ingredient (ginger snaps!) but we don’t dare give away the recipe.
Prepared Romanian style our recipe is Great Aunt Ann’s Grandmother’s - now that’s a classic!
Spaghetti (vegetarian or w/meatballs)
Shapiro’s meatballs are so good because we still make them the way Great Grandmother Rebecca did –we still use her recipe! Not a meat-eater? Not a problem! Just ask for our vegetarian spaghetti instead. Unfortunately, sides do not come with this entree.
Gourmet Burger Shapiro’s style! Our chopped steak is a one or two-patty Russian hamburger. We start with ½ pound grade A beef, combine with eggs, bread crumbs, real onion (none of that powered stuff here) add some savory seasonings, and YUM! A gourmet burger has never been better!
Our short ribs spend hours simmering with onions, garlic, shallots, carrots and beef stock to create the most tender, juicy meal that literally falls off the bone. Severed with two sides, these special meals are available every Saturday and Sunday all day.
This hand cut selection of beef is braised and then sauted with onion, garlic, celery, tomato sauce and a pinch of brown sugar for sweetness. Hours to create, this Sunday lunch special is perfect with our fresh mashed potatoes. It definately goes quickly with our hungry lunch crowd. (in other words, it probably won't be around for dinner time!)
We soak our chicken overnight in buttermilk to get that extra-crisp and delicious crunch! Two pieces per order - your choice of breast, wing, thigh or drumstick. (Available Saturdays and Sundays).
Beef Liver and Onions
Every Thursday night, our large portion of beef liver and loads of grilled onions are a hit. One of our customers drives up from Bloomington every Thursday night just for this. Tender and delicious, if you haven't had it in a while you should try ours.
