  • Q: What’s better than basketball in Indiana?

A: St. Patrick’s Day and basketball!

While fans of the Louisville Cardinals, UK Wildcats, Dayton Flyers and Big Ten’s own Michigan Wolverines are headed to Indianapolis for basketball, Friday brings a very important date to the calendar.  We at Shapiro’s Delicatessen don’t lose sight of March 17th.  In fact, many of our regular fans plan around the rush to get the best corned beef this side of the Hudson River and come on the 16th or 18th. If you are coming to Shapiro’s on Friday, remember there is a parade downtown and a little bit of a crowd outside Banker’s Life…  If you are coming to Indy for basketball, you really need to come to Shapiro’s Delicatessen for our 112 years of quality food, customer service and Sun King Brewery beers.  If you are eating with us, you can park and walk to Banker’s Life – we just ask that you not park close to the building for our regular customers ease.  Please remember that March 17th is one of our busiest days and we need a lot of our spots. Check out Visit Indy for all of the weekends activity in the city. Whichever crowd you are in, remember that a Sun King Beer and a warm corned beef sandwich are the best combo!! Basketball and corned beef, I mean St. Patrick’s Day is the best score Indy could have asked for! Erin go Bragh, shalom! (we do have green bagels)
