Chicken Stew

Redbook Magazine named our chicken stew a Top 10 chicken dish in the country.  Wide egg noodles, red bell peppers, green peas add great color to this dish loaded with never frozen, local chickens.

Chicken Broth aka “Jewish Penicillin”

House made, delicious chicken broth. Guaranteed to get rid of that cold! Well, not really guaranteed but there are plenty of Shapiro’s customers who swear by our soup as their remedy.

Chicken Broth Noodle Soup

Our same great homemade chicken broth is the base. Then we add carrots, peas and thin egg noodles. Our family recipe doesn't have chicken in this soup, just the chicken broth.  Try our chicken stew if you want big chunks of chicken.

Matzo Ball Soup

Matzo Ball Soup

At Shapiro’s, we hand-roll our matzo balls and cook them to perfection in our chicken broth. The result is a matzo ball that is light and fluffy. So good you won’t want to make your own ever again!

You can also order Matzo balls in any soup – just ask!

Our beef comes from local, Indiana beef that is USAD inspected, all Angus grade-A beef because we care about the quality of our food. Served with spaghetti mixed in and Shapiro’s famous rye on the side. Don’t forget to grab an ice cold beer to wash it all down and cool yourself off.

Vegetable Soup

Vegetable Soup

A unique beef and chicken broths base loaded with hand peeled and chopped, fresh-never frozen veggies, and a variety of beans, potatoes and tomatoes.

Cabbage Borscht

A perfect blend of sweet and savory with a kick! Our is a beef base with tomato and cabbage, of course! A Russian staple, just like the old country.
