Shapiro’s Twisted Traditions is our way of introducing a change. It is still Shapiro’s Delicatessen, so you know the food will be excellent. We’ve twisted our traditional style and left the cafeteria line downtown. We’ve provided a place to wash your hands with our community sinks. Place your order for dine in or take away and a pager will alert you when your order is ready. We’ve kept the very best of our historical past and created a fun, casual place to grab a beer (Sun King) with your corned beef, pastrami or Reuben.
At Shapiro’s Delicatessen at Keystone Crossing, we have taken the very best of our menu and moved north. We make hundreds of items fresh, from scratch, every day and we have for a hundred years. Our loyal customers expect locally sourced food, with no preservatives, chemicals or dyes and that is what we will continue to do. Why isn’t our key lime pie a brighter green? We don’t add the chemical coloring. Yes, it is labor intensive for our staff to peel potatoes by hand rather than buy them pre-cut like everyone else. But, our attention to these details is what makes our homemade food stand out from others. Some in the restaurant business refer to this as the “slow food trend” but it’s the way we have always cooked. We just call it Shapiro’s!
Our new location offers the best our menu has to offer. All of our sandwiches are always available for lunch and dinner but with limited space, we had to choose to leave a few items downtown. Take a look at our menu to see what day we are offering special soups or stews, mashed potatoes or our delicious sour cream noodles. Be sure to look at our dessert page as well. We have many delicious items from our Shapiro’s Bakery, but there just wasn’t room to bring everything up north.
